During the second day of the Irish Synod we heard about the healthy and gracious giving of the congregations towards mission work and other ministries, and considered the work of the mission committee and four Presbyteries.

We heard of work taken place to help revitalise existing congregations, opportunities to minister to a group of Chinese reformed christians in Dublin, and the commissioning of an Irish Mission Worker for church planting in Limerick, Ireland’s third largest city.

Thanks was given to God for overcoming recent hurdles in the Nantes building project (France) and the encouraging developments in the work in Seville, Spain.

One particular encouragement in the work of Presbyteries was the ordination of 10 elders across the denomination. The is currently one man under the care of a presbytery, with a view to the 2024 Reformed Theological College intake; pray for more.

In the evening the Synod discussed education in the context of the increasing “progressive” pressures and heard from delegates from our Scottish and American sister churches.
