The 212th Synod of the Reformed Presbyterian Church of Ireland began on Monday 12 June with worship led by the outgoing Moderator, Rev Geoffrey Allen. He preached on Isaiah 66:1-2.

Memorial records were read for Rev George McEwen and Prof Edward Donnelly.

The incoming Moderator, Stephen Wright, preached on Luke 11. He called us to remember that though we are sinful, selfish and easily exasperated, we would never deliberately give them something harmful. God is infinitely more willing to help than we are. He challenged us to think: is there anything we have stopped asking for?
