Saturday 25th November 2023 marked a special day in the life of Covenant Christian Fellowship Church, with Rev. Warren Peel being installed as the congregation’s new teaching pastor. Worship in the congregation’s building was led by the Moderator of Synod, Rev. Stephen Wright. Rev. Paul Wallace (Bready RP Church) preached the Word; Rev. Harry Coulter (Enniskillen RP Church) gave the Exposition and Defence of Reformed Presbyterianism. Upon giving his assent to the prescribed questions for ministers taking up a pastoral charge, Rev. Peel was installed, with prayer, by Rev. Mark Loughridge (Milford & Letterkenny). Rev. Blair McFarland, who had served as Interim Moderator for Galway, gave a charge to the congregation and their new minister.

 Following worship refreshments were served, before Mr Billy Hamilton spoke on behalf of the congregation, welcoming the Peel family to Galway. Gifts were presented to Rev. Blair and Mrs Claire McFarland, as well as Mrs Carole Blair, whose husband, Rev. Raymond Blair, had served as Galway’s interim moderator before his move to the Northern Presbytery. Mrs Ruth Peel was also presented with a gift and was welcomed to Galway, along with Erin, Rebecca, Kaitlyn and Bethan. Two local church pastors in Galway, also welcomed Rev. Peel and his family to the city. Rev. Peel thanked everyone for their prayers and good wishes and closed the meeting with prayer.
