A little over a month has passed since we moved back in to our church building. It was a long endeavor, but a memorable journey.
A lot went on during the construction. The church layout was planned by a carpenter from the Okamoto congregation, and assisting in the construction were two younger carpenters, one being from the mukonoso congregation.
Praise God for providing laborers. A set group of members of the congregation met almost bi-weekly to make decisions regarding the construction. Many thanks all around to members who arranged storage of furniture/etc, temporary worship location, moving company, and etc. plus thanks to the carpenter for designing the building, ordering materials, planning the schedule, and contacting the electrician, siding, roofing, cement, and plumping companies. Thanks to the work of many members the overall price for this building was kept quite low. And a huge thanks to those who financially supported (both from Mukonoso members and from other congregations.)
Praise God for the good work opportunity. It was a blessing to have church work days. Fellowship is always a wonderful thing, and what a perk it is to get to work and fellowship together. One witnessing opportunity was also provided, in that two of the three carpenters are Christian’s, and the third, although he himself is not a Christian, his wife grew up with a Christian background. We had some good conversations and he said he would come to church sometime. Pray for the salvation of him and his family.
After we moved back into the church, the following sabbath we have an evangelistic sermon, a potluck lunch, and a kids event. The short term mission team from Australia assisted in passing out 1500 tracts to the surrounding apartments/homes inviting them to worship that Sunday. Continue to pray for good connections to the community, and praise for the good fellowship and encouragement. We’ve had a lot of fellowship opportunities, both work days, meals together, a Psalm sing, and the Australia team. Also praise as a new baby girl was born to a young couple in the mukonoso congregation! Overall, much to be thankful for.
